This is a nostalgia series for me. There are definitely flaws and some things that don't hold up now as the series grows older, but it remains one of my favorite manga of all time (hence why it'll get five stars regardless). The characters are engaging, beautiful, multilayered, and wonderful. Seeing their journeys grow and change really hits me. There are some pages in the later volumes that really, really hit me hard even now and flash me back to that time when I first read them. This is

Fruits Basket, Vol. 16 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next six chapters (9095) of the on-going manga series.Conflicted over his growing feelings for Tohru Honda and the approaching deadline for his confinement, Kyo Sohma also feels guilty for not telling her he knew her mother. He remembers when he was a boy, Kyoko Honda (then Katsunuma) told him about her past as a gang member, her meeting Katsuya Honda as a student teacher at her middle school, and falling in
Im really torn on how to rate thisI guess I should just say my thoughts first. So, Tohrus mom and dad are eight years apart, which that fact by itself isnt too much of a problem, except for the fact that they met when Kyoko (Tohrus Mom) was only 14, and in middle school where Katsuya (Tohrus dad) was a student teacher, and would have been 22 Yeah I had a major problem with this. It feel like an abuse of authority. I understand the story, I get Kyoko was struggling and he helped her, but there
This was very depressing. SO MUCH BACK STORY. I'm very intrigued to see how everything moves forward though.
The first half was very painful to read, because I really didn't like Tooru's mothers past: her relationship with her teacher was weird and happened pretty fast (plus he said that he fell in love with her when he saw her crying, WHAT).This series in general gives me such mixed feelings. The start was so good but now I feel like this is very often just pretty pointless and long torture porn. 😞 All of these characters have such painful pasts that it gets boring. Everyone, and I mean everyone, have
