This is a good story but the font size is a huge deterrent to reading this book. The illustrations are painting, which are also not engaging for me, although they may be for others.

I didn't notice at first that this was a Hanukkah tale. The cover picture looks like its painted and takes place in the evening. It seems like a family of 6. the colors are dark so thats why i feel like it takes place in the evening. the inside cover however is a nice bright orange. theres a dedication page of all white with small text. there was a lot of text in small font of times new roman. all the illustrations were in portraits.

A lovely Hannukah tale from Poland.

Mommy says: Daddy read half this book, but it's pretty wordy for a 4yo and a 6yo who don't know Yiddish. We'll try again in a year or so.
