Winterkill (Winterkill #1)
Winterkill is a very interesting read. It never reveals all the secrets to the reader and the desire to know everything about the world Kate A.Boorman created kept me reading for many hours. The first book doesn't answer all the questions that will rise as one reads it, but I hope the next books will. The main character is well developed and we get to know everyone from her perspective. Brother Stockham on the other hand should have a bit more focus, as it seems to me, that what we know about him
My feelings on this book are somewhat mixed. On the one hand, the good things I enjoyed about it was the writing was pretty good, the story telling was fairly captivating and it made quite a good page turner. But a lot of things bothered me. We're told its a small settlement somewhere where there are deathly cold winters and the township is guarded by high walls and a locked gate at night and in the
This book was really cool (see what I did there?). Seriously, though, it exceeded my expectations in a most intriguing and satisfying way. I can't say too much without spoilers, but suffice it to say that several things I was expecting did not happen, a number of surprising things did, and I am quite interested to see where Emmeline's story goes from here. There are a lot of big issues touched on in this story, like living with a disability, the toxic effects of social disapproval, abuse,

This book has been on my wishlist for a long time, but then I started seeing some not-that-nice reviews for it and I cooled off. But my gut is something I always trust and it told me to go for it. I did and surprise, surprise it was totally worth it! Firstly, I'm glad that this book haven't got labeled as retelling as I'm not
This is my second time reading this book. I first read it almost three years ago now. Back then I gave this book a five stars. I loved it a lot. Yet I didn't read the sequels when they came out. And so now I decided to re-read this book, so that I can finally get to read book two and three. Oh. I'm not sure how to say this. But, well. This time when reading this book I didn't really like it at all. And it breaks my heart. Because I do remember that I loved it. I had forgotten just about all the
